Shuijing Fm
Type Locality and Naming
Sichuan south of Gansu. The Shuijing Fm was named by the No. 2 Party of Regional Geological Survey, Sichuan Bureau of Geology in 1977. The typical section is situated in Shuijing Township in Pingwu County, Sichuan Province.

Lithology and Thickness
The Shuijing Fm is dominantly composed of gray to light gray crystalline dolomite, siliceous dolomite, dolomite and siliceous dolomitic marble intercalated with white gray marble and dark gray crystalline limestone, which can intercalate with slate and pelitic limestone along strike. The top is intercalated with black chert and the basal part with carbonaceous phyllite, bearing stromatolites and microplants.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
The Shuijing Fm overlies conformably the underlying Upper Sinian Wugongkou Fm
Upper contact
It is disconformably or unconformably overlain by the Lower Cambrian Qiujiahe Fm (or a Tielongpu Fm of Lower Cambrian also shown on stratigraphic column for this region).
Regional extent
Sichuan south of Gansu. It is mainly distributed in Motianling, Houlongmen Mountain and Gongling areas.
